Intermediate Accountant, Assurance & Accounting

Your opportunity

Our Ottawa office (Kent Street location) is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join the Assurance & Accounting team and own the following responsibilities:

  • Efficiently prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for your clients in a variety of industries
  • Perform and assist on audit engagements, prepare working papers and financial statements per regulatory standards
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to request and suggestions
  • Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
  • Follow up on review notes, confirmations received and outstanding issues to assist the Manager in the completion of the file
  • Gather management letter points for discussion with the manager/partner and review the prior years reported management points to determine their status

Your experience and education

  • You have completed or are currently working towards your CPA designation
  • You have at least 2 years of assurance and audit experience in the public accounting industry
  • You are fluent in English and French (considered an asset)
  • You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work
  • You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • You have knowledge of accounting policies and assurance techniques
  • Note: we have various offices across the city with possibility of flexibility in work location
