In a snapshotGovan Brown Construction Managers has an exciting opportunity for a talented and energetic Project Management Assistant to provide support to our Project Managers, ensuring our client projects are executed on schedule, within budget and at the highest quality.The opportunityPlay a key role through all phases of our construction projects, from tender through construction and close‐outProactively manage project processes and documents, such as project set up, bid packages, subcontract management, drawings, purchase orders, contracts, building permits, change order requests and pricing, RFIs, RFQs, close out etc.Setup and maintain accurate project information and data in our computerized project management system (CMiC)Review shop drawings for scope and accuracy against schedulesLiaise and build relationships with clients, designers and sub‐contractorsConduct regular site visits, attend and participate in client and trade meetingsProvide project accounting support – assist with approvals for AP processing and client invoicing, budgets & estimatesOrganize the project closeout documentation, including; warranties, drawings, manuals, permits etc.Track and communicate regularly with key stakeholders regarding project status and milestonesProvide top notch service to clients, suppliers and other stakeholders by responding professionally and with a sense of urgencyDesired talents and experienceConstruction Management or Engineering diploma or degree3-5 years related experience, preferably in the Commercial Construction/Interior fit‐up industry and base building industryExperience working on Federal Government projects Ability to read and understand construction‐related drawings/documentsStrong knowledge of construction processes through all phases – startup through construction and closeoutProactively identify problems / issues and develop effective solutionsTech savvy in Microsoft Office suite, MS Project and other project management softwareConfidence and professionalism to communicate effectively with clients, designers, subcontractors and peersSelf‐ motivated with the ability to take initiative and work in a fast‐paced environment, handling competing demandsHighly organized and a stickler for detailAbility to work under minimal supervision / direction as well as part of a team, sharing information with othersBilingualism (English and French) is an assetPositive spirit with a “get ‘er done” attitudeGovan Brown is an equal opportunity employer and we would like to thank all applicants for their interest.
