Pathways Posting:        21-20Job Title:                       Support WorkerType of Positions:         Full-Time PermanentPathways Location:     Kemptville                                                    Wage Rate:                 $19.48 per hour * This position qualifies for an additional $3.00/hr temporary wage enhancement program as outlined by the Ontario government.Pathways to Independence is a well-established award winning not for profit agency looking for a Full Time Permanent Support Worker who will work as a member of a residential support team to enhance the social, leisure and daily living activities of clients.  Our organization is committed to the people we serve and to our employees. Pathways provides a competitive overall compensation package for full time employees that includes:* Employer paid group benefit program including life insurance, medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability*  3 weeks’ vacation * 50/50 cost sharing defined benefit pension plan  * Employee and Family Assistance Program * Optional Group RRSP program  * Tuition ReimbursementIf you are committed to improving and empowering the lives of people within your community, and championing the rights, choice and self-determination of supported individuals, then Pathways to Independence has the perfect job for you! If you are dedicated to a philosophy which focuses on the potential for people to lead full, productive and engaged lives in their communities then we want to hear from you!As the Support Worker you will assist clients to develop their community and personal development, homemaking, and personal care skills.  Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, you will implement established strategies and behaviour management plans to ensure that these services and supports promote the clients rights, choices, self-determination, independence, and build personal and community living skills.Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the Support Worker, DS supports adults’ mental health, behavioural challenges, and those involved in forensic services in accordance with the person’s individual Quality of Life Plan.  The Support Worker, DS assists with activities such as homemaking, personal care, community, and personal development skills in accordance with the person’s Quality of Life Plan and other directives, as required.  The Support Worker, DS will implement established strategies and behaviour management plans under the general direction of the Manager and Counsellor.  The Support Worker, DS ensures that the person’s services and supports promote their rights, choices, self-determination, independence and builds personal and community living skills.Note that this position is scheduled to work 12 hour rotating shifts that includes days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. The successful candidate must have the following skills/qualifications:* A minimum one year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Services (Personal Support Worker or equivalent),* Current First Aid and CPR,* Valid G class driver’s licence, and* Ability to obtain a  clear CPIC with Vulnerable Sector SearchIdeal candidates will also have experience and abilities aligned with the key responsibilities for these positions, which includes:* Demonstrate a person centred philosophy and commitment to agency vision, mission and guiding principles;* Experience working with persons  with a developmental disability in a community based, group living or independent living environment;* Provide effective services and supports to supported persons;* Manage and maintain accurate client information and documentation;* Participate in and ensure a positive team environment.The successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description.  All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety.The successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description.  All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety.Submit cover letter and resume to before November 30 ( , 2020 .
