Your Opportunity: Situated 135km east of Edmonton, Two Hills is an urban center serving an agricultural region.

The town has a population of 1,379 while the county has approximately 4,500 people.

Residents have easy access to the downtown and commercial areas, as well as several parks and playgrounds.

The town has a grocery store, several restaurants, gas stations, two banks, various businesses, churches, two schools with Kindergarten to grade 12, an arena and curling rink, and a swimming pool.

Within a half-hour drive are three beautiful lakes ideal for camping and fishing.

If you are a Nursing Attendant who likes small town living, this position in Two Hills might be for you As the successful candidate for this position you will cover the Long Term Care department in the Two Hills Health Centre and model Patient and Family Centered Care.

As members of the nursing team, the Health Care Aide
– Nursing Attendant demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our clients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct client care.

Client care may include assisting clients with activities of daily living, treatments, and treatment plans, and other nursing team related activities Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic.

Description: As a Health Care Aide (HCA)
– Nursing Attendant, you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

– As a condition of employment at AHS, you must be enrolled in the Government of Alberta-Health Care Aide Directory and provide evidence of your enrollment at time of hire and annually thereafter.

– In addition, you must meet one of the following Alberta Health Services (AHS) Health Care Aide (HCA) competency requirement and provide evidence at time of hire: a) Certified
– certified as a Health Care Aide through a Government of Alberta licensed post-secondary institution using the Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum; or b) Substantially Equivalent
– an educational background deemed equivalent as compared to the approved Provincial Health Care Aide Curriculum; or c) Deemed Competent
– assessed as competent by an Alberta regulated nurse, using the Provincial Competency Assessment Profile Tool.

Additional Required Qualifications: As Required.

Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience in Long Term Care preferred, plus ability to communicate effectively with the elderly.

Able to perform duties that involve periods of physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting weights up to 25 kg.
