Human Resources Officer, Student and Academic Placement

University of Ottawa

This is a Contract position in Ottawa, ON posted January 6, 2021.

Salary (Grade: 07) Hiring salary range $51309$64,811

Position Purpose

Provides comprehensive human resource leadership, planning, coordination and execution of all aspects of the APTPUO and CUPE 2626 collective agreements to ensure proper and efficient academic administration of unionized part-time professors and students at the Faculty of Law, Droit civil and Common Law.

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge of human resources normally acquired through post-secondary studies in management or human resources (or related program)
A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position;
Experience in interpreting and working with collective agreements, familiarity with the CUPE 2626 and APTPUO collective agreements would be an asset;
Experience in resolving problems of varying complexity independently, and on an ongoing and timely basis;
Experience with data gathering, synthesis and the production of documents and reports;
Demonstrated ability in building and maintaining relationships, as well as communicating information and ideas in verbal and written form;
Teamwork approach, with the confidence to take the lead and guide others as necessary;
Ability to analyze and interpret documents to apply appropriate rules and procedures;
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and organize work schedule to meet firm deadlines;
Experience using computer systems and software such as spreadsheets, databases, word processing and Outlook;
Bilingualism – French and English (oral and written).
