This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted March 30, 2021.

CENGN is looking to hire aPerformance Test Engineer to join our team on a 9 month contract, with the potential for extension Do you have practical hands on experience in: A public Cloud Environment AWS, Azure and/or GCP?

We are seeking a Performance Test Engineer to join our team on a 9 month contract, with the potential for extension, to contribute their expertise in the performance testing of several cloud-based applications.

CENGN will be conducting numerous client projects in 2021 for which there is a requirement to characterize the scalability of the client’s cloud-based applications.

The applications will generally have a UI front-end as well as an API ingestion point for IoT data and APIs for mobile applications.

Most of the applications will be hosted in test environments on AWS, Azure or GCP.

In some cases, the application may be deployed in CENGN’s OpenStack-based private cloud.

Key Responsibilities: In collaboration with other CENGN engineers, and through direct interaction with our client, you will analyze each application to understand its purpose and to identify key use cases, user flows, and API endpoints that should be subjected to scale testing.

Design a test plan for scale testing the application based on modern test methodologies Identify the optimal load generation and automation tools for each project Implement test scripts, execute the test plan, analyze results, and compile test reports Key Competencies/Qualifications: Direct, hands-on experience running the full scope of application performance testing including test plan design, advanced script development, test plan execution, results gathering, results analysis, and reporting.

Solid understanding of quality assurance and software development processes and methodologies Strong background using industry-standard performance testing and automation tools such as JMeter, Selenium or LoadRunner and experience with relevant languages like Python and Java.

Ability to write clear and concise performance test reports of application and server performance, including creating graphs, charts, and basic statistical analysis in Excel.

Strong understanding of how web services and APIs work Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and knowledge of how applications are deployed on them.

Experience with private clouds would be an asset.

Experience and comfort working with Linux systems Excellent written and oral communication skills, and comfort with interacting with our clients in a professional manner Experience working in an Agile environment Desire to work in a highly collaborative engineering environment Positive, team-focused, self-starting attitude Education: University degree or college diploma in computer science or related discipline Experience: At CENGN, we prioritize practical skills over years of experience.

The depth of skill we are seeking in the above technologies would usually be attained as a result of 5+ years of experience.
