Senior SAP MM Consultant to provide information management, material identification, and cataloguing services.

This is a Contract position in Ottawa, ON posted March 16, 2021.

Our public sector client is in need of a Senior SAP MM Consultant to provide information management, material identification, and cataloguing services. This includes utilizing departmental IT systems in order to action cataloguing requests/changes, perform material identification, and respond to user inquiries. The resource will also assist, analyse and participate in workshops for materiel management and supply chain activities. As well, the resource will provide guidance, recommendations and support on logistical processes, policies and procedures, and Material Attestation and Stocktaking support and reporting.

Tasks:

  1. Receive all new and approved cataloguing amendments to previously catalogued items and process these amendments through the appropriate systems;
  2. Manipulate spreadsheets to answer queries, prepare reports, and log activities/events related to material requests;
  3. Perform data batch requests for upload for bulk material requests and material extensions. As well as downloads for users from cataloguing databases
  4. Perform Quality Control using relevant material identification policies on amendment requests to equipment records to ensure optional fields are filled as required. This will ensure that equipment records are as accurate and detailed as possible;
  5. Provide assistance by responding to questions, as and when required, regarding the material identification process. Typically this will entail informing the requesting unit or section what kind of technical information and logistical information must be provided in order to create material and equipment;
  6. Provide advice and guidance for stock levels, procurement of material, warehouse binning, picking procedures, stocktaking, and material attestation;
  7. Participate in related programs and projects on supply chain and material management; including attend workshops, and meetings
  8. Prepare and or present, instructional documentation including job aides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), PowerPoint presentations and incident management documentation; and
  9. Ensuring strict adherence to applicable legislation, Treasury Board Contracting Policy, Government Contracting Regulations, and orders and directives.

Experience required:

– Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the last fifteen (15) years using SAP for materiel management transactions.
– Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the last fifteen (15) years working as a Supply Management Specialist.
five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the last fifteen (15) years working with six (6) or more of the following Materiel Management activities:

  • materiel policy development;
  • materiel requirements planning;
  • stocktaking;
  • materiel transactional data entry;
  • inventory management;
  • asset distribution;
  • replenishment;
  • materiel attestation;
  • materiel disposal
