Software Inside Sales Representative

Compugen is seeking experienced Software Inside Sales Representative (ISR) candidates for a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Software ISR candidates are required to have a minimum of two years’ experience with Software Licensing Sales, for focused and general software publishers. Ideally we are seeking someone in the EST time region; however candidates can work based out of any of our offices across Canada.


As a Software Inside Sales Representative, you will assist and support the various resources within Compugen and the Software Solutions line of business with the goal to grow and steadily increase our license revenue and gross margin from software publishers. The Software ISR is responsible for providing quotes for appropriate software licensing opportunities to support managing and growing a base of accounts in a given geography, both existing clients and new prospective clients alike. The role provides tactical support to licensing opportunities for a defined group of publishers and customers.


  • Function in an Inside Sales capacity providing ongoing support and administrative assistance to the sales team, including the Account Executive, software team and customers
  • Manage relevant customer and internal software inquiries accurately and in a polite, professional, and expedient manner using the communication tools at your disposal
  • Liaise directly with the account in order to identify and resolve their needs for a given geography
  • Direct contact with the customer and ensure that the customer has a high level of confidence in our ability to satisfy their needs
  • Supply quotes to the customer in a timely, accurate and effective manner
  • Check purchase orders and convert validated quotes to orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Ensure that orders are efficiently expedited through the system
  • Liaise with Administrative, Technical and Operations departments in order to provide smooth order flow and successful resolution of customer demands
  • Resolve any order-related problems using tenacity, persistence and a high level of diplomacy
  • Provide sales out reporting, as required
  • Attend training/information sessions and/or classes to keep abreast of technology changes, publisher/vendor product offerings, license programs and corporate programs



  • Successful candidates must be energetic, professional, proactive and positive individuals who feel empowered to take ownership of their region and take whatever action is necessary to resolve account-related problems
  • A philosophy that customer service is important above all and an ability to resolve customer needs in innovative and effective manners is the key success factor of this role.
  • Good practical experience and understanding of software licensing, ideally with a minimum of two years’ experience in either quoting or purchasing
  • Ability to service customer accounts with quality, timeliness, and professionalism
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and multi task
  • Be an effective and proactive team player, as well as be able to work autonomously
  • Conduct research and exercise good business judgment
  • Experience working in a VAR or distribution channel experience would be beneficial
  • Software vendor certifications are an asset
  • Post-Secondary education would be an asset
