They are seeking a Controls and Automation Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

This role is to be performed full time onsite.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, The Controls and Automation Engineer will be a part of our client’s Engineering team.

This position will be responsible for control system design and installation of industrial equipment.

Tasks and ResponsibilitiesControl System design and installation of Industrial Irradiators.

The control system is typically comprised of a PLC and SCADA system with VB.Net and SQL Server components.Working with customers to understand and document requirements, controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation and testing, start-up assistance and after sales support.Provides technical guidance and technical reviews of projects.Planning, scheduling, executing and delivering of internal and external projectsPrepare reports for distribution to various groups, outlining technical details, results or conclusions.Exercise good judgment on complex decisions falling outside standard practices and proceduresKeeps abreast of new developments in the field and incorporates as appropriateSkills and Experience RequirementsElectrical, Industrial or Technologist degree/diploma requiredHolds 8-10 years relevant work experienceProven experience with industrial automation, proven experience in Allen Bradley Guardlogix PLC logic and programming, Wonderware HMI / SCADA programming and SQL Server databaseP.

Eng certification is an assetSelf-motivated, have effectively demonstrated strong leadership skills and good project management skillsExcellent technical writing and communication skills.Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities.Experience within quality systems to product lines assigned such as ISO 9000May require occasional shift work on evening and /or weekends, includes working in a combination of office and industrial environmentsInternational travel is a requirement of the job (approximately 10%)
