Clerk-Data Control

This is a Contract position in Ottawa, ON posted May 17, 2021.

JOB SUMMARY: 

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Business Systems Support, Commercial Operations, the Data Control Clerk will use their skills and experience to audit, process and/or cleanse data in the UNITY database.  This is a 2 month contract position, starting July 5, 2021 and ending August 27, 2021.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES: 

Responsibilities:

Data Operations  
 •    Participate in internal training to gain a working knowledge of Blackbaud CRM (the fundraising database in use). 
•    Proofs data, investigates anomalies and inaccuracies to ensure data integrity and advises appropriate senior staff of findings and recommendations.
•    Cleans and merges (where appropriate) records in the database. 
•    Maintains an accurate trade file and regularly provides data for trade list fulfillment. 
•    Exports and provides data for direct mail appeals as needed. 
•    Participates in user acceptance testing for functional upgrades as needed. 
•    Documents business process related to data management as required.
•    Collaborates with a nationwide team by logging task activity in Jira tickets.
•    As a member of the Philanthropy team, contributes to the support and development of a high-performance team and a collaborative work environment. 
•    Provides excellent customer service to internal customers.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 
Education and experience 
•    Enrolled in post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution  
•    Related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
 
 
Knowledge/Skills 
•    Superior Analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and communicate it to a variety of audiences 
•    Demonstrated problem solving ability and hands-on implementation experience 
•    Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of sustained concentration 
•    Accuracy in collecting, storing, and retrieving information is essential 
•    Passion for data and numbers for driving results 
•    Natural curiosity and drive to investigate and resolve issues 
•    High-level of proficiency and accuracy in Word, Excel.
•    Strong oral and written communication skills 
•    Ability to effectively develop strong cross-functional working relationships
•    Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and changing environment with multiple conflicting demands 
•    Strong commitment to skills development and learning 
•    Knowledge of ticketing systems is an asset
•    Database experience is an asset.
•    Bilingualism (English/French) an asset 
•    Committed to the Principals of the Red Cross Movement

Compensation: $16.25 per hour
