DNA Genotek: Production Technician

This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted February 13, 2021.

POSITION OVERVIEW:The Production Technician is a key member of the Operations team.

Within the scope of all in house chemistry and kit production they use chemical formulation and general laboratory experience to manufacture bulk chemistries as well as conduct all assembly builds related to custom packaging kits, sub-assemblies, and prototypes for inventory and immediate distribution.

The employee adheres to Good Laboratory Practices to maintain equipment readiness and calibration, as needed.

Acts as a back-up role for various Operations positions.RESPONSIBILITIES / DELIVERABLES:Formulate bulk chemical solutions; perform dispensing and labeling operations in a lab environment following established work Assemble product components based on supervisor instruction, work instructions and customer order requirementsAccurate completion of work orders, batch records, quality records and lab reportsMeet quality and regulatory requirements in relation to product assembly.

Carry out assigned tasks and communicate completion to supervisor in a timely mannerSafely handle and effectively store raw materials and finished products for adherence to regulatory and safety requirements.Perform inventory cycle countsSupport R& D and Engineering for validation activities related to laboratory operations.Carry out and support non-conformance report investigations related to laboratory operations.Time management & prioritization: independent, organized approach to fast-paced, multiple concurrent assignment environmentDetail oriented: right the first time approachAccountability: deadline-oriented, commitments to internal customers must be metChemical aptitude: hands-on experience with equipment and production processesCompliance: all activities must comply with medical device regulations (FDA, GMP, ISO 13485)May perform some calibration or verification of chemical production and inspection equipmentPrepare and package bulk products for distribution.
