Technical assistant – Technician

Join one of our multidisciplinary teams today, and together, let’s build the future Work location : Ontario Within the High-Voltage team, as a Technical Assistant: Your responsibilities Provide technical expertise to support site managers in their duties, from preparation of calls for tenders to site closure; Act as a bridge between the site and the project managers; Supervise the execution of construction work in accordance with the plans and specifications; Master the project by owning the content of contractual documents in order to report any errors / problems and / or anomalies related to the project; Help supervisors take ownership of their role, develop the skills to fulfill their responsibilities, guide them to be familiar with Hydro-One technical guidelines and support them in their application.

Evaluate and comment on the selected contractor’s quality plan; Comment on and ensure the application of the contractor’s work methods; Compile and maintain a photographic record of the progress of the site; Verify the technical sheets submitted by the contractor; Ensure that contract documents (plans, technical drawings, specifications, etc.) are up-to-date; Evaluate the performance of the laboratory at the end of each term.

Prepare the supervision plan with the supervisor in charge of the team and ensure its application on site; Participate in the supply of materials to the site; Participate in the processing and follow-up of NC until closing; Assess technical impacts when processing change requests; Support the on-site workers in the compilation and validation of the contractor’s quality manuals and red-tagged drawings and their transmission to the project engineer.

Your profile College Degree in civil/industrial/electronic technologies; Know the specifics regarding the conditions of transport and packaging at the reception of important material; 5 to 10 years of relevant experience; Know the specifics regarding the tightening of major appliance structures; Supervision of electrical work in the industry; Knowledge of major equipment (transformers, circuit breakers); Knowledge of automation and electrical protection systems; Hold a valid driver’s license (class 5); Have knowledge of computer tools and Microsoft Office; Fluent in French (spoken & written).
