Reuters is seeking an experienced Lead Front-End Engineer to be a part of a small high
– performin g team .

You will work on web interfaces and back-end services that support Reuters.com and our related mobile apps .

About the Role As a Lead Front-end Engineer , you will: ​ Build and Develop : Responsive web sites and web applications, design, build and test scalable web application, create reusable templates using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, integrate code with other technologies such as REST Web Services, CMS, 3rd party APIs, etc., create prototypes for proof of concept, use build tools like Gulp or Webpack to streamline development tasks, assess advertising and analytics requirements, evaluate vendor solutions, determine solution design, and implement, identify and document product architecture and solution design Be a Team Player : R egularly r eview peers’ work and provide feedback and collaborate with designers, product managers, ops engineers, client engineers, QA engineers, and various other teams and stakeholders to solve innovative problems utilizing out-of-the-box solutions Be Curious & Innovative : Comfortable with quickly addressing changing and new product needs to help seize business opportunities Be an Agile Person : with a strong sense of urgency and a desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to deliver solutions against strict timelines and c onduct regular reviews with management on progress and maintain the communication infrastructure to ensure transparency and clarity about the state of your pro jects Be an Effective Communicator: Communicate clearly and effectively using Github , Slack, MS Teams, JIRA, etc.

to keep all stakeholders in the loop regarding relevant issues, Interact thoughtfully and professionally with everyone including non-technical colleagues and foster open communication between project team members and facilitate a group through complex issues to decisions Take Ownership: Estimate work scope and time and meet deadlines About You You’re a fit for the role of a Lead Front-end Engineer if you have: Basic qualifications: 4 years experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript Experience with JavaScript UI frameworks and libraries, preferably React Familiarity with CSS frameworks, and pre-and post-processors, preferable CSS modules, and SASS Experience developing with Vanilla JavaScript Understand semantic HTML, SEO, accessibility, and web analytics (Google Analytics) Experience with source control such as Git and code reviews/git flow Experience integrating with REST services and 3rd party APIs using AJAX / JSON Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics Communications & Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience Knowledge of JavaScript build tools, preferable Webpack Knowledge of MVC and other design patterns Familiarity with es6/es7 and newer JavaScript specifications Knowledge of functional programming techniques and functional approach when implementing UI components Understand online advertising Familiarity with professional CMS platforms such as Arc Publishing, Contentful, WordPress, Drupal, or similar Familiarity with NodeJS and typescript What’s in it For You COVID-19 Response: Currently working remotely and following local COVID-19 bylaws and guidelines with most of our offices being remote until July 2021.
