This is a Full-time position in Ottawa, ON posted February 15, 2021.

Our firm is dedicated to all types of litigation with a strong focus on insurance defence.

We represent corporate entities, banks, and financial companies across Canada.

Our aim is to hire talentedlegal assistants with strong skills and those that are team players.

Are you a fit?Required> > 5 to 10 yearslitigation experience in both AB and Tort.

The successful candidate will work directly with two lawyers in a share.

If you work well in a team, this is a great opportunity.Responsibilities include:Open and Close files,Draftcorrespondence and other legal documents as required,Keep an up-to-date e-filing system,Schedule discoveries, mediations, and other important events,Manage calendar appointments,Maintain the utmost professionalism in a team environment,Communicate with clients, the courts, and opposing counsel, andOther duties as requested.Successful candidates will have the following:A minimum of 5 years of litigation, insurance defence experience in Tort & AB,Experience using Elite 3E would be an asset,Work well under pressure and in a busy, fast-paced environment,Professional communication skills, both written and oral,Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel,Detail oriented and consistent in producing excellent quality of work, andStrong organizational and computer skills are required.Our compensation package includes a competitive salary including benefits.NOTE: Remote ‘work from home’ during COVID-19 Pandemic only.If you have at least 5 years of the required experience, strong skills and enjoy a busy practice, you will never be bored, and MB will be a good match for you.If you are ready to make a change, we are ready to hire!
