For more information, visit www.Telesat.Com.Purpose ofthe RoleAssess the performance of the Telesat LEO constellation using various use cases and deployment scenarios derived from planned customer deployments.Develop and maintain system analysis models of the Telesat LEO constellation communication systemMain ResponsibilitiesUse state-of-the-art modeling techniques and software tools (using Matlab or other script language) to do detailed performance analysis of the Telesat LEO Constellation performance in terms of data throughput, latency, satellite hand-over performance, availability based on equipment performance specifications.Participate to the development of the system model software tool using Matlab or other script language along with advanced optimization tools.Evaluate impact of possible changes to the system requirements on the performance of the system.Document performance assessments in technical notesInterface with product management to define use cases and performance evaluations required for potential customer network implementation, and model the performance achievable using internally developed tools.Conduct detailed studies on system performance validating the concept of operation with respect to the interface between satellite and ground systems.Work in collaboration with the Verification and Validation group to plan proper validation of the requirements to ensure appropriate system performanceEducation & Experience RequiredB.

Sc.

in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in satellite communications.Good experience in system design, requirement management and communication systems performance assessmentsDemonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation and coding and its impact on the satellite link performanceExperience with satellite link budget analyses with good understanding of effects of impairments on the link performanceExperience in V-model system engineering methodologySpecialized Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesCreative problem-solver with thorough attention to detailAdvanced Matlab coding skillsHighly collaborative team-player who can quickly earn the confidence of co-workers and teammatesExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliersExperience with business considerations and practical limitations related to system design and implementationAbility to prioritize opportunities, needs and resourcesAn aptitude for and interest in complex technologyFluent in English, written and oralThe successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
